Description
Phalaenopsis schilleriana is a plant of the orchid genus Phalaenopsis and an endemic species to Philippines. We sell in 3 cm leaf length.
The Phalaenopsis likes a lot of sunlight and its leaves are emerald green. However, strong sunlight can burn its leaves. Therefore, it is best to place the plant on the windowsill and let the sun shine through the glass. If there is not enough sunlight, the leaves lose their shine and turn dark green, the stems lengthen, and the flower buds decrease. However, if the sun is too strong, its leaves will burn in the sun.
Phalaenopsis is a drought-resistant plant. Overwatering can damage the roots. If the soil is too wet, it becomes difficult for the roots to grow and they are prone to rot. You can drink water in the morning and twice a week. Since its growth is slow in the winter months, watering it once a week is sufficient.
Remember to have good ventilation after watering so that any remaining moisture on the leaves can evaporate. This helps prevent pests and diseases. If the air is too dry, spray the plants with clean water to increase the soil around them. If the roots turn brown or black, this may be an early sign of rot. Watering frequency should be reduced and roots that rot over time should be cut off.
